


Downtown Houston will be closing off streets to create a safe art environment on October 16th & 19th, to host the Bayou City Art Festival. The event starts at 10 a.m. and last until 6 p.m. with Houston's skyline in the background. The festival will be in front of City Hall and around Hermann Square, where Walker, Bagby, and McKinney meet.
Over 300 artists will be featured displaying over 19 media formats. You'll see paintings, 3-D, sculptures, wood pieces, and many others! There will also masterpieces of food with restaurants, wine bars, and the new Art Bar.
Tickets cost $10, and children under 12 are free. Capital One Bank has created the creative zone, where there will be activities like wax hands, Dia de los Muertos Masks, Clay creatures, and more fun kid projects.
For the past 37 years, the Bayou City Art Festival has raised more than $2.4 million for local nonprofit organizations. Some of the sponsors are the City of Houston and Houston Parks & Recreation Department, Budweiser Select, Sweet Leaf Tea, and KTRK-TV.
