What a Great Mini skirt! Event

Friday, March, 21, 2008

If you missed the Mini skirt! event last night at Bohemia you  missed out on some great music by Wendell Brooks and a wonderful belly dancing show by Amira Tanya. Both were really great.

Wendell Brooks put on a great show playing such favorites as, “Let’s Stay Together.”  He plays the sax, flute and keyboards while singing. Great act! You can check him out at www.wendellbrooks.com or on his My Space page, www.myspace.com/wendellbrooksmusic. He plays at Bohemia and he’ll be playing on the 23rd at Sambuca if you want to check him out in person.

Amira Tanya can be found at www.HoustonDanceFactory.com and she offers lessons! Unleash your inner belly dancer and take lessons from her! I took classes around 15 years ago so I am definitely due some classes. It’s great exercise for the abs. You’ll believe it if you see hers! Yikes!  I loved watching how her body moved. It was so graceful.

It was so nice to be out and about with my husband Rey, sans the children. We felt young and free! LOL!  I loved the signature drink of the night, the “dirty skirt!”

I finally got myself a pink cowboy hat! It was worth the trip just for the hat and for all the lovely women that I met that night too, like photographer Linda Lapointe, who published a wonderful book on Beautiful Women

I love the energy of women! It’s what makes skirt! such a great magazine. I hope I can make the next skirt! event and that you can too.
