How I Became Me: I never really fit in anywhere. I identified with the black side of my family as well as the white. But, it was super confusing growing up. Surrounded by my two younger brothers, we didn’t have a television until I was about ten years old. So, I would just listen to music and draw. I was a straight-up tomboy, always playing basketball and getting into trouble. I never wore skirts. My dad had a Dojo, where I learned Kenpo karate and my mom worked in the cosmetic field. I think the polar opposites had an effect on me. We didn’t have much money, but we were always taken care of.
My last reflections: Saturday
mornings are best spent by a large body of water.
