Waiting for the Storm

Tuesday, August, 5, 2008
It’s midnight. We are waiting for the storm to hit us. What storm? Tropical Storm Edouard of course. It’s the latest storm in the Gulf of Mexico and it’s headed straight at us. Fortunately it’s not expected to turn into a hurricane, but as past tropical storms, aka Allison, have shown us, tropical storms can cause just as much damage and can be deadly. So we are getting ready for it to hit.
First it was going to hit us in the early morning, but now it’s hitting us at noon, when I’m at work of course. I hope I can get to my kids when I get out of work. AND of course this has to happen on the day I was supposed to be on the radio.
On another note, I forgot to report what a success the class reunion was. We had a pretty decent turn-out, but most importantly it was a lot of fun.
I had a lot of fun reconnecting with old friends and reminiscing. A few friends I had not seen literally since graduation. It was really great to catch up with them again. There was also a group of friends there who I was in school with since middle school. It was especially great to see all of them. Twenty years just flew by!

Go home early girl! Your safety is more important than anything else. Take care of yourself and those kiddies!
