Detour

Tuesday, August, 19, 2008
Your eyes open slowly and reality sets in. Gasping for air, you wake up stunned and confused; legs wobble and hands shake. As the world comes into focus, the truth is like an 18 wheeler crashing into your essence. After months or even years of tricking yourself, you see that, you, Wonder Woman herself, has been lead on a detour. But, there is no need to retire to the super-heroine cemetery yet!

There are a million and one forks in the road, so chances are you will make a couple wrong turns. Whether it is a relationship, job, goal, decision, purchase or whatever, the important thing is the experience. Anyway, let's face it; there is only one thing better than a gallon of ice cream in a moment of crisis; finding your way back!

This month, realize that things are not always as they appear and distractions are often disguised. So, take some time for reflection and most of all pay attention to your intuition.

Should you find yourself lost on a detour, just think of it as a fabulous personal eccentricity. Hell, why not!? It's the mistakes AND victories make you who you are.

How true! Sometimes we think of these detours as negative ...but as I think back, these so-called detours, although frightening, are when I've always learned the most about myself. Thanks for the reminder :)
